About Ridge Cap

Ridge Cap is the steepest coffee we make. It is a dark roast with a deep body, where rich baker’s chocolate and caramelized sugar meet a smooth, velvety texture. Sweetness and depth come together in one satisfying cup, and it stands up to milk, sugar and the worst jobsite creamer anyone has ever brought in.

It rates 11/12, the top of our pitch scale. If The Tear-Off is strong, Ridge Cap is where the scale runs out.

Why we named it Ridge Cap

Ridge cap is the row of capping shingles that runs along the ridge, the peak where two roof planes meet. It is the last thing installed and it takes the most wind and weather of anything on the roof, so it has to be done right.

That is the idea behind every coffee in the lineup: each one is named after a piece of the job and rated on our roof-pitch scale. Ridge Cap sits at 11/12. Read more roofing terms in our roofing glossary.

How to brew Ridge Cap

  • French press: Full immersion brings out body, chocolate and depth.
  • Cold brew: Make a jug the night before for the roofs that hit triple digits.
  • Drip machine: The job-trailer standard. Measure it right and it tastes like it should.

Not sure how much to use? Our coffee ratio calculator works it out in grams and tablespoons for any pot, press or jug.
