About Storm Chaser

Storm Chaser is a bold medium roast of Brazilian and Mexican beans. Chocolate-covered almond and maple syrup sweetness carry the cup, and a bright citrus note keeps it from getting heavy. It is full-bodied and satisfying, and it holds up whether you drink it black or with a splash of milk.

At 8/12 it sits right in the middle of our pitch scale: darker and heavier than the light roasts, but not as steep as The Tear-Off or Ridge Cap. If you are not sure where to start, this is the one.

Why we named it Storm Chaser

In roofing, storm chasers are contractors who travel to wherever hail or wind has just hit and work the damage. Storm season means tarp calls, inspections and a phone that does not stop ringing. Homeowners should always check a contractor’s local licensing and insurance before signing anything.

That is the idea behind every coffee in the lineup: each one is named after a piece of the job and rated on our roof-pitch scale. Storm Chaser sits at 8/12. Read more roofing terms in our roofing glossary.

How to brew Storm Chaser

  • Drip machine: The job-trailer standard. Measure it right and it tastes like it should.
  • French press: Full immersion brings out body, chocolate and depth.
  • Cold brew: Make a jug the night before for the roofs that hit triple digits.

Not sure how much to use? Our coffee ratio calculator works it out in grams and tablespoons for any pot, press or jug.

What does the 8/12 pitch rating mean?
