Every tool in the Roofer’s Toolbox is free and does one job: take the numbers you have and give you the numbers you need. Two handle roof geometry. One handles the coffee. Here’s what’s in the box.
What’s in the Roofer’s Toolbox
Roof Pitch Calculator
The roof pitch calculator turns a measurement into every number that matters. Enter the rise per 12 inches of run, a rise and run in any unit, or an angle in degrees. It gives back the pitch as X/12, the angle, the percent grade and the pitch multiplier. The page also walks through measuring pitch from the roof, the attic or the ground, and turning a footprint into real roof area.
Roof Pitch Chart
Rather look it up? The roof pitch chart lists every whole pitch from 1/12 to 24/12 with its angle, percent grade and multiplier. Use it to compare pitches side by side, turn an angle-finder reading back into a pitch, or rough out squares without punching buttons.
Coffee Ratio Calculator
The coffee ratio calculator handles the other math of the day: how many grams of coffee go with how much water. Pick a ratio and a cup size and it works out the rest, or start from the coffee you have and work out the water. A coffee-to-water ratio of 1:15 to 1:17 by weight is a common starting point. Adjust from there to taste. The Jobsite Brew Guide covers the brewing methods.
Why a Coffee Company Built Roof Math Tools
Fair question. Our roast scale is already named after roof pitch. The pitch rating runs from 4/12 for the light roasts up to 11/12 for Ridge Cap, our darkest. Once you’ve named your coffee after rise over run, building a pitch calculator isn’t much of a leap.
There’s a practical side, too. Roofers run numbers all day: pitch, squares, bundles, waste. A tool that gets the math right on a phone, in the driveway, before the first cup is finished, is worth keeping in your pocket. We’d rather hand the crew something useful than another sales pitch. The coffee can do its own talking.
More Tools on the Way
The toolbox isn’t full yet. More tools are on the way, and they’ll show up here as they’re ready. Until then, keep the pitch calculator bookmarked and brew something with a little pitch to it.
